Heard this on XM Radio on the drive back into Austin, and I was reminded how much I loved this song whenever it first started to be played. Roomies are out. Nobody to cook for equals no major dinner plans. I might pour myself a bowl of Count Chocula cereal, but I don’t think anyone cares about pictures of that.

Did a lot of great things this weekend which will be written about during the week. I ended up buying a new car, observed a high school football game, toured around my old town — fun stuff. I really wish I had the energy to catch Danzig downtown tonight at Fun Fun Fun Fest, but it’s just not in me. Looks like I’m going to go with the cold cereal/Netflix combo to kill off the day.

Bus Ride Confusion

Ever since my car finally crapped out, I’ve been taking the bus to get to work. It’s great as I’ve just taken another step closer to reaching the true Elite Austinite status. I still need to grow out some dreadlocks, own a bicycle (and consequently, have said bike stolen), and never let my radio dial waver from the exciting programming found on 90.5 KUT.

Anyways, the ride isn’t too bad at all. Forty minutes, zero transfers, no hassles; it’s a perfect time for me to catch up on my podcasts before getting into work. However, the commute back home from work is a bit strange for me. At the Stassney and Manchaca bus stop, the bus becomes crowded with a mixture of students from Crockett High School and the Austin Community College South Campus. What really bothers me is that there is no amount of leering that can verify which is which.

I just want to live my life without being on the same FBI watch list as Gary Glitter and Pedobear. It shouldn’t be this hard (life in general, not my penis).

The two-year old clip seems innocent enough but apparently it’s nothing more than just another attempt by the left to indoctrinate the minds of the youth. That is, according to this nutjob (note the wacky full url):

“If Mom and Dad watch cable news, it’s better than 50/50 they watch “POX News.” So what gives? PBS — a network partially funded with my tax dollars — has the right to tell my kids that their parents watch “trashy” news? The message is clear, I can’t even sit my kids in front of “Sesame Street” without having to worry about the Left attempting to undermine my authority. And don’t tell me, “If you don’t like it change the channel.” There are no channels left! It’s everywhere. Just last week I had Obama’s service and volunteerism promoted on every single major network, including Disney and Nickelodeon.

The rest of the entry is pure gold as the author brings up the “Tinky-Winky Purse” incident and even has the gall to call Glenn Beck and Greg Gutfeld the “cool kids on our side”. I’ll never understand how someone could live their life mindlessly believing, defending and obsessing over the left wing/right wing paradigm. It’s just so nutty how a segment featuring Muppets can just enrage a certain segment of our population.

GPOYW - Nineteen Year Old Ace Frehley Edition (I’m the one in the center)

Going through some of my pictures, I came across this strange photo. It’s kinda ridiculous to think that we’d got all gussied up for a KISS tribute act at a Houston sports bar, but the band took care of us that night. We never got carded for drinks and ended up taking a bunch of pictures with their photographer for their now defunct website.

There oddest thing about this picture for me is the fact that this serves as a photographic timestamp of a previous relationship. I ended up in a major, two year relationship with the girl in the Peter Criss makeup (on the right) the very next night after this photo was taken and could write an entire book of the craziness and the agonizing hell that she put me through. Funny enough, we’re still good friends but have had several periods of time in the last six years where we just don’t talk to each other at all. I’ve always found this dynamic between us to be amusing as we’re just both stubborn assholes who will never admit fault.

I will never ever ever never eat another flaming hot cheeto!

I have the type of luck to where this constantly happens to me, even at times where I thought I was fast enough to correct it without anyone noticing. Having a slight error reblogged and spread around town is just a constant reminder how moronic I truly am.

Just to make matters worse, I also usually end up with an email from Natface correcting my mistakes which just further validates her existence as the Queen Grammar Chick* on Tumblr and a prickly thorn at my side.

The last thing that I ended up doing during my trip to New Orleans was stopping at Mother’s Restaurant for a Ferdi’s Special. My brother swears that they have the greatest fried calamari, but I wanted to try this roast beef Po’ Boy after seeing Adam chow one down on Man V. Food.

The roast beef is placed on top of sliced honey ham, shredded cabbage, Creole mustard, and debris gravy. The gravy becomes soaked in the bottom half of the bread which makes the whole experience deliciously messy. I got a cup of seafood gumbo to go along with it, and I left the town feeling astonishingly satisfied.
